C.L.Hoechner-Overseas Tours Inc., was founded in 1962 by Carl Ludwig Hoechner, a German immigrant in 1958. Mr. Hoechner has specialized in group travel to Europe and has been the general agent for the Hanseatic-Atlantic-Line in the South Eastern United States. In ’67 C.L.Hoechner-Overseas Tours started doing business under the name of Oberammergau Tours, promoting the world famous passion play in Oberammergau 1970. Oberammergau Tours has been specialized in offering tours to the famous PASSION PLAY taking place in Oberammergau ever since: 1980, 1984, 1990, 2000, 2010 and the next one in 2020 is already on its way.
Carl Christian Hoechner has started working for the company in 1984, being in charge for the European operation. After the sudden death of Carl L. Hoechner in August of 2000, Christian Hoechner has taken over the responsibility for the firm. Together with Alicia Keller, Christian’s sister, the company is still a 100% family owned operation. 2006, Christian has founded a sub company “Florida Reisen & Kreuzfahrten” to attract the German speaking traveler to Florida and the Caribbean.
